Kaduna ADC Warns Against Alleged Infiltration, Vows to Protect Party
By Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna
The Kaduna State executives of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have warned against alleged attempts to infiltrate and take over the party, stating that the ADC in Kaduna State has been built over time through dedication and hard work.
They expressed their unwavering solidarity with the national chairman, Senator David Mark, and commended his leadership in building a robust and formidable party.
The executives stated that the ADC in Kaduna State has been working under one umbrella, but alleged recent attempts by some individuals to take over the party structures have been met with resistance.
Addressing a press conference in Kaduna, the State Chairman, Honourable Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha, clarified that those allegedly claiming to be members of the ADC in Kaduna State have no evidence to vindicate their membership at the ward, local government, and state levels.
The executives also condemned the purported expulsion of key party officials, describing it as null and void. They alleged that the action was a desperate attempt by individuals who are not registered members of the party to hijack its structures.
They further alleged that the recent removal of local government chairmen was unacceptable and undermined the principles and constitution of the party.
The executives urged all ADC members and supporters in Kaduna State to remain vigilant and protect the party. They also called on coalition partners to officially join the ADC through constitutional means, stating that the era of coalition is past history.
The statement read:
“We, the bonafide State Executives of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, wish to address recent developments and clarify our position.
“We also wish to express our unwavering solidarity with the leadership and commitment of our National Chairman, Senator David Mark, in building a robust and formidable party. His leadership has been a beacon of hope and inspiration to all of us, and we are highly proud of him as our leader.
“We will not engage with Nasir El-Rufai and on his fights and issues surrounding his previous interactions and association with Governor Uba Sani. Our focus remains on building and strengthening our party, not on justifying or responding to external narratives that do not concern our great party.
“We wish to state for the record that those allegedly crying foul at the corridors of the media and claiming ADC membership are not bonafide members of the party in Kaduna State.
“They have no evidence to vindicate their membership either at the ward, local government, or state levels. As such, their alleged attempts to take over our party structures are not only unacceptable but also illegitimate.
“The State Executives of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State wish to inform you that the recently purported expulsion of our key party officials is null and void.
“This alleged action is seen as a desperate attempt by individuals who are not registered members of our party and who do not even know what is enshrined in the constitution of our great party.
“We urge all well-meaning members of the ADC in Kaduna State to disregard the alleged kangaroo actions and remain committed to our party’s ideals. We will not join issues with these individuals, especially when most of them have alleged dual membership.
“We will not stand idly by as alleged attempts are made to infiltrate and take over our party structures. The ADC in Kaduna State has been built over time through dedication and hard work.
“We will not allow alleged external elements to hijack our party or replace our executives and members with their own on the instructions of their leaders under the name of ADC Coalition in Kaduna State.
“We also condemn the alleged recent removal of our local government chairmen who emerged through the 2022 state congresses.
“The most recent was two days ago, involving one of our Giwa Local Government members and his alleged replacement with an SDP member, who was a former SDP Giwa Local Government Chairman, without consultation with our party executives. This alleged action is unacceptable and undermines the principles and constitution of our party.
“We urge all ADC members and supporters in Kaduna State to remain vigilant and protect our party. We will take necessary steps to safeguard our structures and ensure the integrity of our party is maintained.
“We are urging our Kaduna State coalition partners to officially come and join the ADC through constitutional means. The era of coalition is a past history. We believe that unity is key to our success, and we are committed to building a strong and united party.”
