Kaduna Governor orders probe into Mosque massacre
In a swift response to the heinous attack on Saya-Saya village in Ikara Local Government Area, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has directed the police to launch a thorough investigation.
The assault, carried out by bandits, resulted in the tragic loss of seven innocent lives during a mosque prayer session.
Governor Sani’s directive was conveyed through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Lawal Shehu, on Sunday.
The governor strongly condemned the brutal and heartless act, affirming the government’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace across the state.
In his statement, Governor Sani declared, “We understand the concerns and anxieties of the residents of Ikara, in particular, and Kaduna State, in general. Your safety and security are our top priorities, and we want to reassure you that we are working tirelessly to maintain peace and stability.”
He went on to urge the public to remain composed and vigilant during this trying time.
Additionally, he called upon all residents to collaborate with law enforcement agencies and provide any pertinent information that could aid the ongoing investigation.
Recall the tragic incident unfolded on Friday night when a group of armed bandits descended upon the village as Muslim worshipers gathered for the Isha’i (Sunset) prayers in a local mosque.
The assailants ruthlessly targeted the vigilante leader, the Imam leading the prayer, and three other worshipers within the mosque. Later, they claimed two more lives in a separate location within the area.
