Kaduna Govt, Development Partners set for polio vaccination exercise

Kaduna State Government in collaboration with Development Partners have announced the commencement of another Polio eradication campaign in the State.

This was contained in a statement that was jointly signed and issued to newsmen by Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board and the Journalists Initiative on Immunization Against Polio (JAP), Kaduna State Chapter.

The collaborating partners urged parents to present their children for Polio vaccination exercise that is going to take place in the state.

The statement explained that injectable fIPV Vaccines, oral nOPV and other Routine Immunization Vaccines will be administered to children aged 0-59 months.

The announcement further elucidated that in other to achieve quality coverage, the campaign is staggered into two phases.

“Phase 1 will cover 12 Local Government Areas, which will be implemented from 29th July – 3rd August 2023, while Phase 2 covers the remaining 11 Local Government Areas between 7th to 12th August 2023”

“vaccines will be available at the designated vaccination post such as palaces, schools, hospitals, churches, mosques, offices, markets and other community centres among others”

“Parents are advised to ensure their children are fully vaccinated against polio and other childhood preventable diseases by visiting the nearest vaccination post” the statement revealed
