Kaduna Pastor Launches Campaign to Reduce Ram Prices for Eid-El Kabir
From Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna
Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, has launched a campaign to lower livestock prices for Eid-El Kabir celebrations.
Accompanied by top Muslim imams and preachers, Pastor Buru is touring ram-selling points in Southern Kaduna, Northwestern Nigeria.
The campaign aims to make rams and other animals more affordable for Muslims, promoting a joyful and happy Sallah celebration.
Over 100 Muslim imams, Alarammas, and members of the Council of Muslim Preachers have joined the campaign to appeal to livestock sellers to reduce prices.
The group visited various livestock markets in Kaduna, extending season’s greetings and appealing for lower prices to make animals more affordable for the Sallah celebration.
Pastor Buru noted that price hikes have made animals unaffordable for many Muslims, emphasizing the need for Christian-Muslim relationships and affordable prices.
Imam Husaini Ilyasu, Chief Imam of Udawa Central Mosque, also called for lower prices, encouraging fair business practices and joining hands with Pastor Buru in prayers and fasting.
Ram seller Musa Ɗanlami explained that the rising cost of living has impacted all sectors, including animal feed and transportation costs.
