The Kano Network of NGOs (KANET) has intensified its stakeholder engagement efforts with an advocacy visit to the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Public Procurement and Co-Chair of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), Comrade Nura Ma’aji, in Kano State.
The visit was aimed at supporting ongoing efforts to ensure effective implementation of the OGP initiative in the state, with a focus on promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance.
During the engagement, KANET’s Technical Advisor, Dr. Musa Sufi, presented a proposed blueprint developed by the network to enhance the implementation process of the OGP framework.
The Commissioner received the proposal warmly and expressed readiness to explore its adoption as part of measures to strengthen open governance practices in the state.
Also present at the meeting was Hon. Musaddiq, Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on OGP and Head of the Kano OGP Secretariat, whose contributions added value to the deliberations.
The KANET delegation was led by its Chairman, Barr. Nura Ahmad Muhammad, alongside the Co-Chair, Zainab Nasir, emphasizing the network’s strong leadership commitment to advancing the OGP agenda.
KANET reaffirmed its resolve to support the successful implementation of the Open Government Partnership in Kano State through sustained advocacy, collaboration, and provision of technical support.
