Kannywood Actor Mustapha Nabraska Joins APC, Dumps NNPP and Kwankwasiyya Movement

By Salisu Hamisu Ali

Popular Kannywood actor Mustapha Badamasi Nabraska has officially defected from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nabraska, widely known in the entertainment industry as “His Excellency Nabraska,” announced his decision during a visit to the residence of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, in Abuja. In a symbolic move, he discarded his red cap, a key symbol of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, to mark his departure from the group.

Senator Barau Jibrin, who represents Kano North, received Nabraska alongside Senator Ibrahim Lamido of Sokoto East, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Primary Healthcare, Development, and Disease Control. Also present at the reception was Hon. Yusuf Tumfafi, the Political Adviser to Senator Barau.

Welcoming the actor to the APC, Senator Barau described the party as “the people’s party” and expressed confidence that Nabraska’s defection would strengthen the party’s influence in Kano and beyond.

Nabraska’s move is seen as another major political shift in the Kano political landscape, where the battle for supremacy between the APC and NNPP continues to intensify.
