Kano-ACReSAL Conducts Sensitisation for Implementation of RAP
The Kano State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (Kano-ACReSAL) has conducted a sensitisation exercise for the implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP).
The event took place on Monday in the Bulbula-Gayawa community of Nasarawa Local Government Area, Kano State.
The exercise aimed to familiarise Project Affected Persons (PAPs) and the broader community with the concept of the RAP, which is a crucial component of the proposed Bulbula-Gayawa erosion control works.
The Kano State Commissioner for Environment and Chairman of the State Steering Committee, Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim, was represented at the event by the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer, Aminu Gidado Yusha’u.
He urged the community to reciprocate the government’s efforts through selflessness, support, and cooperation to ensure the successful execution of the project.
Dr. Hashim reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment, under the leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to addressing environmental challenges that have long hindered the socio-economic development of the community.
The Environmental Safeguard Officer, Alhaji Mukhtar Bello, provided an overview of the RAP, emphasizing the need for active participation and full cooperation from the PAPs to ensure the timely and successful completion of the process and pave the way for the commencement of civil works.
The District Head of Gama Community, Alhaji Rabiu Muhammad Isyaku, expressed appreciation for the government’s continued concern and support through the Kano-ACReSAL project.
He assured that the community is fully prepared to carry out its assigned roles and responsibilities with diligence and commitment.
