Kano Assembly Clears Interim Management Committees For 44 Local Government Councils

The ad-hoc committee of the Kano State House of Assembly, responsible for screening nominees for the confirmation of appointment as interim management committees (IMC) of 44 local government councils in the state, has successfully cleared all the nominees. The committee submitted its report to the House of Assembly today.

During the presentation of the report, the Chairman of the Committee on Local Governments and Chieftaincy, Hon. Zubairu Hamaza Nassau, stated that all the nominees for the confirmation of appointment as Interim Management Committee members of the 44 local governments were successfully cleared.

This information was conveyed in a press statement issued to journalists on March 7, 2024 by Chief Press Secretary to the House of Assembly, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai.

According to Shawai, the Speaker commends the outstanding work and the great efforts put in by all the sub-committees that made the final screening possible.

Based on the recommendations of the ad-hoc committee’s report, the House unanimously agreed to appoint the nominees to the local government interim management committees (IMCs).

The resolution passed today by the House will be forwarded to the Governor of Kano State for the swearing-in of the members of all the 44 local government councils in the state.
