Kano Concern Youths Plead With President Tinubu to Intervene in Kano Election Matters
The Coalition of Kano Concern Youth has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and call to order judges handling election cases in Kano State.
The group worry that Kano is suffering from what they define as judgments based on personal interest, ranging from Tribunal and Appeal courts, which seized their mandates.
This was contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by the Coordinator of the group, Ibrahim Rabiu on Wednesday.
According to the concern youth group, the act by the judges is a clear signal of diminishing the image of the judiciary, which is the last hope of the common man, and is not in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The group noted the people of Kano State voted their choice, and using the court to undermine their chosen candidates is like a slap to democracy.
The Group informed that if the mandate of the NNPP-led government is seized, Kano State, being the highest producer of votes during elections, will be sidelined to bye-elections during general elections.
The youth, however, re-echoed their call to former Presidents, Religious and Traditional rulers nationwide to intervene and allow the people’s mandates in Kano see the light of the in the next judgement of Supreme Court.
