Kano Delegation Attends World Congress of Pharmacists in Denmark

A delegation from Kano State, led by the Director-General of the Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA), Pharm. Gali Sule, FPSN, has arrived in Denmark to participate in the 83rd World Congress of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The event, organized by the Federation of International Pharmacists, is being held in Copenhagen from August 31 to September 3, 2025, under the theme “Pharmacy Forward: Performance, Collaboration, and Health Transformation.”

Speaking ahead of the congress, Pharm. Sule explained that the gathering will explore the evolving role of pharmacists in addressing modern healthcare challenges. He said discussions would focus on how the profession can enhance healthcare system performance, foster collaboration across sectors, and drive transformative health outcomes worldwide.

“We are honored to represent Kano State, and Nigeria at large, at this global gathering of pharmacy leaders,” Sule said. “Our participation underscores the importance of strengthening healthcare systems through pharmaceutical advancement. We are here to collaborate, learn, and contribute meaningfully to the global health agenda.”

He added that Kano’s presence at the congress reflects Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to raising pharmaceutical standards, investing in local capacity, and building resilient health systems in line with World Health Organization (WHO) goals.

Another delegate from Kano, Pharm. Tukur Ibrahim, Director of Drugs and Supply at DMCSA, noted that the delegation’s participation marks a significant step in showcasing the state’s growing contributions to pharmaceutical development and public health at both national and international levels.

The Kano team is expected to engage in high-level discussions and policy sessions on drug accessibility, digital health, and pharmaceutical education alongside pharmacy professionals from around the world.
