Kano Deputy Governor Applauds Graduands of Gwarzo Women Centre for Acquiring Entrepreneurial Skills

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of 791 graduands of the Gwarzo Model Women Centre, who successfully acquired various entrepreneurial skills.

He made the remarks on Saturday during the graduation ceremony held in Gwarzo Local Government Area.

Comrade Gwarzo noted that it has been exactly one year since the empowerment programme was launched under the Kano State Agency for Mass Education.

“Today, we are celebrating the graduation of 791 participants, comprising both women and youths,”he said.

He revealed that the participants were trained in a wide range of vocational skills, including fashion designing, hairdressing, makeup, bed sheet production, beverage preparation, as well as detergent and soap making, among others.

The Deputy Governor assured the graduands that he would convey their efforts and achievements to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

“The Governor’s vision is to empower women and youths with entrepreneurial skills that will make them self-reliant and job creators,”he added.

He urged the graduands to remain committed to utilizing and sustaining the skills they have acquired, in order to achieve financial independence and contribute to the economic growth of Kano State.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Dr. Mani Tsoho, welcomed guests to the occasion and assured that unemployment would significantly decline due to the continuous empowerment initiatives being implemented by the state government in his local government.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of working tools and a cash grant of N50,000 to each participant as a start-up fund.
