Kano Deputy Governor appreciates animals vaccination exercise
Kano State Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has expressed Satisfaction with the Conduct of animals vaccination exercise going on in the 44 local Governments Areas in the state.
Dahiru Lawan Kofar Wambai, Chief Information officer of the Ministry disclosed the development in a statement issued to newsmen.
Comrade Aminu Gwarzo, represented by the director Agricultural services of the ministry for local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawan made this known when he led a powerful supervision team to the vaccination centers at Yahaya Gusau and Malafa- Kofar Wambai Fulani settlements in Kano Municipal local Government.
He said the vaccination exercise is an annual event organise by the state ministry for Local Governments in collaboration with ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources with assistance from Kano State Agropastoral Development Program (KSADP) in order to have animals that are healthy and safe for human consumption
The Deputy Governor through the Director Agricultural services added that the event usually start from November and ends in January, and animals are vaccinated against contagious Bovine pleauro-Pneumonia(CBPP), and pesetes Depetit, Ruminantium (PPR) among others and the inspection will smooth running of the vaccination and what was given to local governments are judiciously used.
He use the opportunity to call on the heads of Agricutural Department and vaccinators at the local levels to ensure adquate coverage of the exercise and that the ministry will continue with imprumptu visit to the vaccination sites at the 44 local governments of the state to achieve the set of objectives.
The inspection team headed by the Director Agricultural services, supported by the staff of his Department were conducted round the visited vaccination sites by the head of Department of Agricutural services, Kano Municipal local Government, Alhaji Sulaiman Isyaku Dakata.
