During a two-day workshop held in Kaduna on Saturday, Kano State Deputy Governor, Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, emphasized the significant responsibility placed on the newly appointed Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs) and Treasurers, quoting, “That whom much is given, in return much is expected.”

The workshop, themed “Local Government Budget Book To Reflect The Six (6) Segments of The Chart Account (IPSAS) In Kano State,” centered on the imperative adoption of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) in Kano State, particularly concerning the local government budget book.

IPSAS guides the accurate reflection of six segments in the chart of accounts: assets, liabilities, equity, revenues, expenses, and transfers. Implementing these standards is crucial to restoring integrity in the state’s local governments.
