Kano Deputy Governor/LG Commissioner Directs IMOs to Submit Developmental projects

The Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,  Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has directed the Interim management Committee Chairmen Of 44 Local Government areas in the State to Submit three viable projects that have direct bearing to the lives of people of the state.

Dahiru Lawan Kofar Wambai, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry dieclosed this in press statement issued to newsmen.

The instruction was given during a meeting with the Interim  caretaker committees Chairmen of 44 Local Government areas that was held at the headquarters of the ministry for local Government conference hall.

The Deputy Governor said the reason behind this directive was to address the immediate needs of  people such as roads, water supply, health care services among others.

Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo also announced that the state Government has increased the empowerment package from ten thousand (#10,000) to (#50,000) inview of the devaluation of naira and skyrocketing of prices of commodities in the country.

The commissioner also drew  the attention of Interim  management caretaker committees Chairmen to closely monitor the women empowerment program in their respective areas to ensure transparency and deal with anyone found sabotaging the exercise.

The Deputy Governor also warned the caretaker chairmen to avoid been involved in land issues as it is very sensitive issue which if care is not been taken would put them in trouble.

He commended them of their efforts on security matters pointing out that the Government was highly impressed on how they tackle security issues and urged them to redouble their efforts towards that direction.
