Kano Education Commissioner Suspends Two Principals for Absenteeism, Negligence Of Duty

Kano State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, has ordered the immediate suspension of two Principals for absenteeism and negligence of duty.
The Principals are those of French Bilingual College and Chinese Bilingual College, Kwankwaso, in Madobi Local Government Area of the state.
In the same vein,the Ministry of Education has approved the posting of Umar Akilu Sabo as sit-in Principal French Bilingual College and Isyaku Umar Abdullahi as sit-in Principal Chinese Bilingual College Kwankwaso, respectively.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, and issued to newsmen in Kano on Monday.
Kiru said that the suspended Principals were not in their schools when the team of take-up inspection paid a visit on Monday to monitor the commencement of the 2023/2024 first term School Session.
According to the statement, the inspection team led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Kubra Imam, also discovered that students of the two colleges were not served food for the previous night and that their breakfast for today was not ready up to the time for the visit,hence,the suspension.
It said the commissioner expressed dismay over the lukeworm attitude exhibited by the principals and therefore directed them to handover their schools’ affairs to the new sit-in Principals and report to the ministry pending the outcome of an investigation.
He warned all school authorities in the state to shun any acts that would undermine the present administration’s efforts at reviving education the sector.
