Kano Gov swears in 45 Special Advisers

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sworn in 45 Special Advisers to the state government.

The event which held at African House, Government House on Thursday had in attendance senior officials and stakeholders.

Governor Yusuf, while speaking, stated that the appointments were based on merit and loyalty.

“Today’s appointment was purely based on merit, loyalty, and commitment,” he said.

The governor stated that the expectations from both the people and the government are very high.

“We expect you to be diligent in the discharge of your duty. Yours is to advise the governor.

“Where the governor does the right thing, encourage him, so that he keeps doing more and where the governor as a human being does something that goes contrary to the rule of law, you are to come and look at his eyes and tell him the truth.

“We are partners in progress,” the governor told the appointees.

He called on the appointees to dedicate themselves to the service of Kano state people and humanity in general.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Kano State, Isah Haruna Dederi, administered the oath of allegiance and oath of office to the appointees.

He urged them to faithfully abide by and uphold the law.

Among the 45 special advisers, only four were women.

They are Dr. Fatima Amneef, Special Adviser, Special Assignment Women; Hajiya Aisha Idris, Special Adviser, Food Security; Hajiya Habiba Baura, Special Adviser, Domestic Affairs, and Hajiya Sadiya Abdu Bichi, Special Adviser, Women, Children and Disabled.
