The Kano State government on Thursday assured residents that the ongoing emirate tussle in the state would be resolved amicably in the near future.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya, said concrete steps were already being taken to restore lasting peace and stability in the state.
Speaking to journalists in Kano, Waiya said the government was committed to sustained dialogue with all relevant stakeholders to prevent the dispute from fueling tension or disrupting governance.
He said the administration’s approach was guided by respect for the rule of law, traditional institutions and the collective interest of the people of Kano.
