Kano Governor, Emir Sanusi set to pay final respects to late Aminu Dantata
… as family announces funeral rites today in Madina
As tens of thousands of Nigerians arrive in Saudi Arabia ahead of the funeral prayer for the late business mogul and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alasan Dantata, the Governor of Kano State is leading a high-powered delegation to pay final respects.
A statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa revealed that family sources have confirmed the funeral prayer will be held today, Tuesday, 1st July, 2025, at the Holy Mosque in Madina after the Asr prayer.
The Governor is accompanied by his Jigawa State counterpart, H.E. Umar Namadi; former Jigawa State Governor, Barr. Ali Sa’ad Birnin Kudu; the Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II; Emir of Karaye, Dr. Muhammad Mahraz; Chairman of the Kano Business Community, Alhaji Sabiu Bako; and several other dignitaries from Kano and other northern states.
Earlier, the delegation paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Aminu Dantata at their residence in Mobeed Hotel, Madina.
Received by Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Tajuddeen Dantata, Governor Yusuf and Governor Namadi expressed their heartfelt condolences over the passing of the renowned industrialist and philanthropist.
Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II led the delegation in offering special prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Aminu Dantata.
