Kano Governor, NNPP Officials Absent as Top Politicians Gather for Senator Kawu Sumaila’s Daughter’s Wedding
A host of prominent political figures, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, attended the wedding of Senator Kawu Sumaila’s daughter in Kano.
The wedding fatiha took place on Friday at Sumaila Juma’at Mosque in Kano State, officiated by the Chief Imam, Professor Salisu Shehu.
Expressing his appreciation, Senator Kawu Sumaila acknowledged the presence of distinguished guests at the ceremony, which marked the unions of Dr. Khadija Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila with Faisal Abdulmanafi Sarina and Maryam Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila with Bello Ibrahim Ma’aji.
The high-profile event attracted several political heavyweights, including Senators Muhammed Tahir Mungono, Abba Moro, Abdul Ningi, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Victor Umeh, Danjuma Goje, Eze Kenneth, and Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura. Others present included Senators Ekong Samson, Khalid Ibrahim, Khabib Mustapha, Sahabi Yau, Abdulhamid Mallam Madori, Ikra Aliyu Bilbis, and Shehu Buba.
Also in attendance were former Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Kano State APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas, and Aminu Dabo, further underscoring the political significance of the occasion.
Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, who represents Kano South under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), hosted the event. However, sources confirmed that Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other NNPP officials were conspicuously absent.
