Kano Governor Pledges Hospital/School in Memory of Late Asma’u
Kano state Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has pledged to construct either a Hospital or Islamiyya School in memory of late young Asma’u Sani, the patient he sponsored for Surgical operation in India and died before the departure date to the hospital.
Aliyu Yusuf, Director Public Enlightenment Government House Kano, disclosed the development in a statement issued to newsmen.
Making the pledge when the governor along side with his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam paid a condolence visit to the families of the deceased at Alkalawa Quarters in Gwarzo local government council area of the state.
The governor who was deeply saddened for with the death of young Asma’u, described the death as very shocking and pathetic, praying for Allah to grant her an eternal rest and fortitude of the parents to bear the great loss.
Alhaji Abba Kabir directed the Imam of the area to secure a plot of land for the construction of either a Hospital or Islamiyya school which will be named after young Asma’u.
He further directed that the money set aside for the medical treatment of the deceased to be used for the conveyance of her parents to the Holy Land to perform lesser Hajj (Umra).
Remarking, during the visit, the deputy governor , Comrade Aminu Abdussalam has expressed gratitude of the people of Gwarzo local government to the governor for his kind gesture.
Responding, the father of the deceased, Malam Sani who was moved by the honour done to the family by the governor, prayed to Almighty Allah to uphealed the election of the governor at Supreme Court and also reward him with jannatul Firdausi.
It could be recalled that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf came into contact with young Asma’u when he paid a sympathy visit to Dala Orthopedic hospital and learnt of her predicament.
Resultant from that visit, the governor decided to sponsor her surgical operation in India , but Allah in his wisdom took her life before the medical trip.
