The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo made the statement while presiding over the signing ceremony for a new financing agreement between Yidong Nigeria Limited and China City Industrial Group Company Ltd.
The partnership aims to establish a state-of-the-art factory in Kano, further solidifying the state’s status as the economic nerve centre of Northern Nigeria.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Governor described the collaboration as a testament to the power of international partnerships in a globalised economy. “By leveraging strategic alliances, we can bridge technological gaps, transfer knowledge, and build capacity to meet global standards,” he said.
Comrade Gwarzo acknowledged the challenges faced by industrialists, including infrastructure deficits, limited access to financing, and market constraints. He assured stakeholders of the government’s commitment to tackling these issues. “We are prioritising investments in road networks, energy infrastructure, and security to ensure that Kano remains not only a hub of commerce but also a centre for industrial advancement,” he affirmed.
According to him, the partnership between Yidong Nigeria Limited and China City Industrial Group is expected to drive significant socio-economic benefits, including job creation and capacity-building for Kano’s workforce.
The Deputy Governor emphasised the broader impact of the project, stating, “This is not just an investment in infrastructure; it is an investment in our people, in their skills, their aspirations, and their future.”
He also used the occasion to call on other investors, both local and international, to explore the vast opportunities available in Kano State. “We have the population, the resources, and the vision. What we need now is to deepen our partnerships and channel our collective energies towards achieving shared goals”
“To our esteemed partners from China City Industrial Group, we welcome you warmly to Kano State and assure you of our cooperation at every step of this journey,” the Deputy Governor said.
