Kano Govt Trains Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters on Effective Communication

The Kano State Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs has commenced a four-day capacity-building training for Senior Special Reporters (SSRs) and Special Reporters (SRs), aimed at strengthening government communication and public enlightenment.
The training, organized in collaboration with the International Institute of Journalism and AUSAM Communication, is themed “Updating Basic Mass Communication Skills for Enhanced Government Communication.”
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Waiya, noted that the training was designed to equip the participants with modern communication strategies to effectively publicize the achievements and policies of the Kano State Government.
He disclosed that the ministry had earlier extended similar training to local government information officers to ensure a wider reach in promoting government initiatives across the state.
Also speaking, the Kano State Head of Service, Malam Abdullahi Musa, who represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, commended the dedication of the SSRs and SRs, describing them as critical to the success of the administration’s information dissemination strategy.
Musa reminded participants that the system of appointing SSRs and SRs was introduced by Governor Yusuf to ensure accurate and professional reportage of government activities. He urged them to remain committed and uphold the highest standards in their duties.
On behalf of the participants, the chairman of the SSRs and SRs Forum, Amir Abdullahi Kima, expressed appreciation to Governor Yusuf for his support and commitment to building their capacity.
PRIME TIME NEWS reports that, seasoned communication experts from the Faculty of Communication, Bayero University, Kano, will lead the four-day training sessions for the government aides.
