Kano Gubernatorial Election Judgement: Matters Arising

By
Engr. Bello Gwarzo Abdullahi, FNSE

Even the most casual observer to the political happenings in Kano knows fully well that the tribunal judgement left a sour taste in the mouth and in all conscience challenge the resolve of Kano people in their abiding desire to take the bull by the horns in electing their leaders.

What is more, Kano as is well known has been associated with progressive politics since the first republic and the resolve of her people in their inalienable rights to elect their leaders can not be taken for granted.

As we await subsequent judgements let me appeal to our politicians to “look before they leap” lest them not plunge us in to unnecessary political crises.

Looking at the already harsh economic condition occasioned by fuel subsidy removal, banditry, kidnappings, religious and ethnic tensions we can ill afford to add salt to injury.

A word, as the saying goes is enough for the wise.
