Kano Hero Award recognizes Gidado’s outstanding contributions to society

Bello Muhammad Gidado, the founder of the Rahaji Foundation and A19 movement, has been awarded for his contributions to Kano society at the Kano Hero Awards.

The event organized by the DHS Int’l and Project Rescue Nigeria Team held on Saturday at the Convocation Hall, Bayero University Kano awarded 100 people.

While speaking at the inaugural event, Mr. Gidado expressed his surprise at being honored with the recognition.

“They invited me to this event to come and collect an award, which was unexpected,” said Mr. Gidado. “I was surprised and asked myself, ‘What have I done to be recognized with an award?’”

“I realized it was the things we do in our foundation and the movement we are creating for youths in Northern Nigeria,” Mr. Gidado said.

Gidado used the opportunity to urge the youth to prioritize societal contributions over personal gain.

According to the founder of A19, youths  are the backbone of society. 

He urged youths to join politics and contribute to making the society better.

He advised young people to move beyond criticizing leaders and actively participate in solutions. 

“Stop insulting the leaders and do the right thing,” Gidado urged. 

“Youths should join hands together with the leaders to fix the country.”

“I want Nigeria to produce young leaders under 40 by the next election, be it president, governors or other key positions,” he said.

Other recipients of the Kano Hero Award included the late Aminu Kano, Sheikh Nasiru Kabara, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya (the Emir of Gaya), Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Barau Jibrin, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, and several others.
