Kano Listeners Hail FRCN Kaduna’s Return To Airwaves

Some listeners of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria(FRCN) Kaduna, in Kano have hailed the return of the station to the airwaves, after many days off air.
The station had been off air for some weeks reportedly due to some power challenges,which generated a lot of concern among millions of its listeners, especially those in the northern parts of the country.
The outfit has, however, returned to the airwaves,and has been transmitting its programmes for more than a week now,with its listeners expressing delight at the development.
One of them is Ayuba Labiru,a 63-year-old retired civil servant,who told our Correspondent that he was immensely delighted at the resumption of transmission by the Federal Radio station,”after a disturbing absence from the airwaves.”
“As someone who has been listening to Radio Kaduna since childhood,I seriously missed its rich programmes, especially Zaben Rana(a Hausa request programme) and Barka Da Yau(a Hausa newscast).
“I am happy now that the station is back on air,as I can tune to it and listen to my favourite programmes.I commend the authorities concerned for their efforts to return it to life,” Labiru said.
Another listener,Malanta Tijjani,also commended the station’s return to the airwaves, saying that the development had now enabled him to listen to quality programmes, again, “especially the Tafsir(Reading from the Holy Qur’an with translation and commentary) by Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi.”
“That Tafsir programme that Radio Kaduna airs at 11 p.m. daily, has always made my day,but when the station went off air, I became worried that I could not access it at the usual scheduled time.
“I commend the authorities concerned for returning the station to the airwaves,and urge them to thrive to sustain the feat,” the 60-year-old petty Trader added.
A similar sentiment came from Hajiya Yar’Sale Ibrahim,a Housewife,who hailed the station’s resumption of transmission which she said had now enabled her to listen to her favourite programmes again,especially Musulunci Ke Magana(An Islamic question- and-answer programme in Hausa).
“I missed those programmes when the station went off air,but I am delighted now that it has resumed transmission which gives me the opportunity to listen to them,”again, Ibrahim said.
