The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) executive members in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, have expelled the party’s state chairman, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, over alleged acts of indiscipline.
The decision was reached during the ward’s second executive meeting, held two weeks after Dungurawa’s re-election, and was detailed in a resolution signed by 27 ward executives, including the Ward Chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Hassan, and the Ward Secretary, Alhaji Yahaya Saidu Dungurawa.
According to the resolution, Dungurawa was accused of creating divisions within the party, fueling internal crises, defaulting on party dues, and making derogatory remarks against Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The executives described his conduct as “unacceptable and detrimental to the image, unity, and progress of the NNPP,” emphasizing that the expulsion was in accordance with the party’s constitution.
“The action became necessary to safeguard discipline, unity, and internal harmony within the NNPP,” the statement read.
Copies of the resolution have been forwarded to the party’s local government, state, and national secretariats, as well as to the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Governor Yusuf for their information and further directives.
The ward leadership stated that the move aims to serve as a deterrent to members who misuse their positions or flout party regulations.
They reaffirmed their loyalty to the NNPP’s national leadership under Kwankwaso and pledged continued support for Governor Yusuf, expressing commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of the party.
