Kano Police Command Continues National Police Day Celebration With WALKATHON,Live Programme,Court Visit

The Kano State Police Command has continued its celebration of the National Police Day 2026 with series of events aimed at fostering community partnership and building trust.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer,CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
Kiyawa said the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, led the day’s activities, which began with a Walkathon along Abdullahi Wase Road Kano, terminating at Mallam Aminu Kano Way.
He said the Chairperson of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), Kano State Chapter, Hajia Hadiza Abubakar Bakori, and members of POWA participated in the Walkathon, demonstrating their support for the police and the community.
“The Commissioner of Police then proceeded to Dala FM Radio Kano for a live programme, where he engaged with the public and discussed the importance of community policing.
“The day’s activities were concluded with a visit to the State’s Federal High Courts in Kano, where the Commissioner of Police met with judges and court officials to discuss issues related to security and justice delivery.
“The Kano State Police Command remains committed to working with the community to build a safer and more secure environment for all. Going forward, there will be a visit to North-West University Kano and a Football March at Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata Kano on Wednesday, 1st April 2026 by 10am and 4pm respectively.
“The command will continue with community engagements across all the 11 Area Commands and 78 Police Divisions in the State. The public is reminded of the finale of the celebration, which will take place on 7th April 2026 at Eagle Square Parade Ground, CBD Abuja,” the statement added.
