Kano Residents Turn Out in Numbers to Support Gov. Yusuf’s Re-Election Bid
A mammoth crowd of jubilant supporters on Tuesday lined the streets of Kano to welcome Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf upon his return from Saudi Arabia, where he served as the Amirul Hajj for the 2025 Kano State pilgrimage.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Wednesday.
The governor arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to a heroic reception by thousands of enthusiastic residents, political associates, party loyalists, youth groups, and cultural troupes.
Supporters, waving party flags and traditional symbols, chanted solidarity songs and echoed the slogan “Go Again AKY 4×2”—a growing campaign mantra calling for Governor Yusuf’s second term in office.
The campaign chant reverberated through the streets as the crowd marched alongside a convoy of vehicles adorned with banners, posters, and branded billboards boldly displaying “Go Again AKY 4×2” and other messages of support.

Major routes across the city were visibly decorated with campaign-themed materials, signaling widespread grassroots mobilisation.
The welcome procession turned into a city-wide celebration, with crowds lining major roads from the airport to the Government House in a powerful show of solidarity and endorsement for Governor Yusuf’s leadership.
Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the people of Kano for their overwhelming show of support.
He also extended gratitude for the successful coordination of the Hajj exercise and the safe return of Kano pilgrims.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering on its development agenda, with continued focus on restoring critical infrastructure, revitalising education and healthcare systems, and promoting social and economic inclusion for the people of Kano.
