The Acting Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission (KSSC), Dr. Murtala Musa, has expressed satisfaction with the welfare arrangements provided for Kano athletes participating in the ongoing 3rd National Para Games in Abuja.
Dr. Musa made this known after inspecting the athletes’ hostel and other facilities, where he assessed the quality of accommodation and feeding provided for the team.
According to him, the commission is pleased with the standard of meals being served, noting that they meet the nutritional needs of the athletes.
The Acting Chairman, who was accompanied by members of his management staff, said the visit was aimed at ensuring that Kano athletes remain in good health and are well taken care of throughout the competition.
During the inspection, the Acting Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, together with the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Sports Council, Hasanu Mohammed Wambai, scrutinized the athletes’ hostels and ensured that the meals provided met the required nutritional standards.
“Kano is always ready. We have quality athletes, and with collective effort, we are determined to make the state proud,” he said.
Kano State has maintained an impressive performance record at the National Para Games, finishing in third position in both the first and second editions of the competition.
During the first edition Kano State contingent showcased exceptional resilience and commitment by winning 42 medals which includes 22 gold, 13 Silver and 6 bronze.
The Pyramid City athletes secured a total of 44 medals, during the second edition comprising 15 Gold, 12 Silver, and 17 Bronze, demonstrating their talent and determination to make the state proud.
