Kano SWAN Pays Condolence Visit to Alh. Salim Shariff Abdallah’s Family

On Monday, the 15th of January 2024, the Kano State Chapter Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Comrade Zaharaddeen Sale, along with some executive committee members, visited the family of the late Alhaji Salim Shariff Abdallah to express their condolences.

The visit was prompted by the news of the passing of Alhaji Salim Shariff Abdallah on Friday, the 12th of January, 2024. Alhaji Salim Shariff Abdallah was not only a respected member of the community but also held familial relationships with notable figures in the world of sports. He was the elder brother of Coach Hassan Abdallah and Coach Usman Abdallah, as well as the father of a former media officer of the Nigerian U23 National team, Babs Shariff Abdallah.

Comrade Zaharaddeen Sale and some SWAN executive committee members arrived at the residence of the Abdallah family to offer their support and solidarity during this difficult time. Their presence and gesture of empathy were aimed at providing comfort and reassurance to the grieving family.

During the visit, Comrade Zaharaddeen Sale conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the entire SWAN Kano State Chapter. He expressed deep sympathy for the loss of a figure who held significant prominence within the sports community and offered words of encouragement to the family as they mourned the passing of Alhaji Salim Shariff Abdallah.

The gesture of the SWAN Kano State Chapter illustrates the organization’s commitment to extending empathy and support beyond the realm of sports reporting, showing that they recognize and value the personal connections and contributions of individuals like Alhaji Salim Shariff Abdallah.

SWAN Kano State Chairman prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of late Alhaji Salim Shariff Abdallah, Jannatul Fiddausi be his final abode and grant the family a fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
