Kano’s Deputy Governor/LG Commissioner Warns Staffers Against Absenteeism

Kano State Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has sternly warned staffers of local governments to be at their duty posts all the times for effective service delivery.

Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo gave the warning when in company of the ministry’s Permanent Secretary and other management staff paid impromptu visit to Dawakin Kudu and Kura local governments secretariats.

In a Press statement Signed and issue to newsmen by Dahiru Lawan Kofar Wambai Public Relations Officer Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,explained that.

At Dawakin Kudu, the Deputy Governor expressed happiness as he met the Interim Management Chairman and the supporting staff in their offices and ordered for a commendation letter to the Interim Management Chairman in person and to the local government as a whole.

The reverse was the case at Kura local government where the Deputy Governor and his team couldn’t meet management and other staff of the local government, a situation that warranted the Deputy Governor to direct the management of the local government to report to the headquarters of the Ministry for Local Government for further action.

He reiterated the determination to continue with the unscheduled visit to local governments in the state stressing that no any staff found wanting would be spared in facing the wrath of the law according to stipulated rules and regulations.

Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, called on the staffers of local governments across the state to brace up to their engagements as Kano State Government under Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is willing to implement policies and programmes aimed at uplifting the living standard of people of Kano State.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Kabara said the ministry will continue to monitor the performance of its staff with a view of rewarding hardwork and commitment and discouraging laxity and truancy.

The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Dawakin Kudu local government, Alhaji Rabi’u Dogo Tamburawa thanked the Deputy Governor for the unannounced visit which he described as a morale booster to the staff of the local government.
