Kebbi Gov in Côte d’Ivoire, seeks AfDB’s support to make Kebbi agro-industrial hub

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has sought the support and cooperation of the African Development Bank (AfDB) towards making Kebbi State an industrial hub in agriculture.

Gov. Idris is seeking collaboration with African Development Bank (AfDB) to harness the potential of the Special Agro-Industrialisation Programme.

Kauran Gwandu, alongside six other governors from North-West geo-political zone had already arrived Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire in a bid to actualise the set target.

The governors included; Lawal Dare, Zamfara, Ahmed Aliyu, Sokoto, Umar Namadi Jigawa, Uba Sani, Kaduna, Dikko Radda, Katsina and Kabir Yusuf, Kano States.

The Governors, while in Abidjan will explore the opportunities offered by the Agro-Industrial Processing Zones programme, adding that the governors had met with the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina and his team.

The Special Agro-Industrialisation Programme aims to achieve food self-sufficiency, create jobs and boost economic growth by processing raw agricultural commodities in areas with high potential.

Those who accompanied Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi State include, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Chief of Staff, Bar. Attahiru Maccido, Hon. Bello Kaoje, Member House of Representatives and some Commissioners.
