Kebbi Government Procures N179m Water Treatment Chemicals

Water treatment chemicals worth N179 million have been procured by the Kebbi State Government for the Birnin Kebbi, Argungu, Yauri, and Zuru Water Treatment plants.

This information was disclosed to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi by Alhaji Bello Abdullahi-Kaoje, the Honorable Commissioner of Water Resources and Rural Development, during visit to inspect of the chemicals at the Dukku Water Works in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

Abdullahi-Kaoje stated that the items include 220 tons of aluminum sulfate, 110 tons of lime, and small drums of chlorine.

He further explained, ‘The water treatment chemicals will be distributed to the Birnin Kebbi, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru Water Works to ensure efficient water supply in the State’.

The commissioner also announced that preparations have been finalized for the installation of a dedicated electricity line to enhance power supply at the Dukku Water Works in Birnin Kebbi.

The commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar and other officials of the Ministry.
