KEDCO Donates Mosquito Nets to Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital

Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has donated mosquito nets to Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital in Kano as part of its 2025 Medical and Community Outreach Program, aimed at supporting healthcare delivery and fighting malaria among women and children.
Sani Bala Sani, Head, Corporate Communications at KEDCO disclosed this development in a statement issued to PRIME TIME NEWS today.
According to Sani, the donation also forms part of KEDCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities to mark Customer Service Week 2025, celebrated under the theme “Mission Possible.”
Speaking at the event, the MD/CEO of KEDCO, Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta, assured the hospital management of the company’s unwavering support. He emphasized that KEDCO will ensure the timely resolution of any electricity-related issues faced by the hospital and reaffirmed the company’s dedication to advancing healthcare services through its outreach programmes.
“Our mission goes beyond powering homes and businesses; we are equally committed to empowering possibilities in health, education, and community development. Supporting Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital and its affiliates is a clear demonstration of this commitment,” Dr. Jimeta stated.
In his response, the Zonal Chief Medical Director of Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital, Dr. Ibrahim Bn Muhammad, expressed appreciation to KEDCO for the gesture, stressing that the donation will go a long way in reducing the menace of malaria, particularly among children and women, across the hospital and its affiliated facilities, including Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital and Imam Halliru General Hospital.
The initiative underscores KEDCO’s broader vision of integrating social responsibility with service delivery, ensuring that the company’s impact extends beyond electricity supply and into areas that directly improve the quality of life.
