Kefas Hosts North-East Governors to Gala Night, Calls for Unity

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on Friday night hosted his North-East counterparts to a cultural gala and dinner in Jalingo, ahead of the 12th North-East Governors’ Forum meeting scheduled for today Saturday.
The event, held at the Government House Banquet Hall, featured colourful performances by cultural troupes from Taraba and other states in the region, celebrating unity and shared heritage.
In his welcome remarks, Governor Kefas stressed that regional solidarity remains crucial to tackling insecurity, poverty and infrastructural deficits, adding that the forum provides “a platform to strengthen brotherhood and fashion strategies for peace and development.”
A statement signed by the Director Press Affairs government house Gombe Isma’ila Uba Misilli, noted that Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, described the reception as a reflection of Taraba’s hospitality and reaffirmed the governors’ collective commitment to working together for the progress of the sub-region.
Chairman of the Forum and Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, also commended Kefas for setting the tone for fruitful deliberations, noting that the show of culture and camaraderie would inspire stronger collaboration among the states.
