Kidnapping: Kebbi Governor assures rescue of abducted district head, nine others

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has assured safe rescue of the abducted district head of Kanya district under Danko Wasagu local government area, Alhaji Aliyu Isah Kanya who was recently abducted alongside nine others by the suspected bandits.

This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, saying the Governor made the pledge in Birnin Kebbi while reacting to the incident which he described as unfortunate.

It further informed that, Governor Nasir Idris was shocked on receiving the news of the abduction, but assured that government in collaboration with security agencies would do everything possible to rescue the district head and other abducted people unharmed.

“I want to use this medium to assure the good people of Kanya and the family of the abducted district head and alongside other persons that, In Sha Allah all the persons involved would be rescued health and hearty.

“Let me also appeal to the people of the area to support the efforts of security agencies by assisting them with credible information that would lead to achieving the aim.

“In Sha Allah, we will not rest until these people are rescued unhurt and reunite with their respective families,” the Governor has assured.
