KNSG Issues Warning to Local Government Officials Against Absenteeism

The Kano State Government  has issued a stern warning to local government staff in the state, cautioning against absenteeism from their duty posts.

The Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, delivered this caution while meeting with the state leadership of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE)

Gwarzo in his words stressed “Be on your duty post and be always on your toes; absenteeism and negligence of duty will not be tolerated in this government”

The Deputy Governor emphasized the administration’s commitment to understanding and collaboration with the labour union to enhance workers’ welfare.

In a statement by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, the government expressed its dedication to putting in place all necessary measures for mutual understanding.

Gwarzo, reflecting on his history as a labour union activist, stated that he takes pride in his past contributions to the labour movement in Kano State.

“I am proud to be a labour activist, and I am equally proud of what I did during my days in the union. I went into labour decisively because there’s a need to revamp the union for the betterment of society,” declared the Deputy Governor.

Comrade Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, the President of NULGE in Kano, extended congratulations to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration for the recent victory at the Supreme Court.

He assured the government of NULGE’s readiness to support and cooperate in achieving targeted goals, emphasizing their commitment to increased productivity and cooperation as partners in the progress of local government administration.
