KNSG Poised To Settle Death Benefits Of Public Service Workers From 2016 To Date
Kano State Government under the astute leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf had earmarked some funds to settle death benefits to dependants of all public service workers who died from 2016 to date.
In line with Government’s effort to settle the debts and in order to ensure that, no beneficiary is left out, the Executive Council of Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNC) under it’s Chairman, Comrade Hashim A. Saleh had directed all its affiliate public sector Unions to assist and guide the dependants of the deceased to furnish the required information to the office of the Head of Service with immediate effect for onward transmission to Ministry of Finance for payment.
In a statement by the by the Council Chairman, urged the leadership of all the affiliate public sector Unions to seized the opportunity and work with the Government and the families of the deceased for hitch free operations.
Furthermore the Chairman expressed appreciation on the efforts by the Government to address workers’ plight most especially deceased workers.
Comrade Hashim also pleaded with the Government to employ pragmatic approach in implementation of wage award palliatives to workers and Pensioners in the State in order to cushion the economic challenges being faced by workers and pensioners in present day Nigeria.
At the end of the statement, the JNC re-iterated workers’ support, cooperation and loyalty to the Government.
