KNSG Reiterates Commitment to Enhancing Zoological Garden
The Kano State Government has reiterated its determination to upgrade the Kano Zoological Garden and transform it into a model wildlife park.
The Managing Director and Conservator, Sadiq Muhammad Kura, made this known while addressing journalists in his office. He revealed that the government has acquired forty different species of animals from abroad, which are currently on their way to Kano Zoo.
In a statement issued to newsmen by Ahmad Muhammad Sani Gwarzo, Zonal Information Officer, Kano Municipal Zone 1explained that, Mr. Kura further stated that the zoo presently houses 310 healthy and active animals, all of which are well-fed and receive proper medical attention.
“All animals in Kano Zoo are provided with three square meals daily, and their health is monitored regularly by veterinary experts,” he emphasized.
He also announced that all boreholes in the zoo have been converted to solar-powered systems, ensuring 24-hour water supply for the animals and facilities.
Mr. Kura expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his relentless efforts in renovating and upgrading the Kano Zoological Garden to enhance leisure and tourism for the people of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
Finally, he called on the citizens of Kano State to continue living in harmony and to pray for lasting peace in the state and the country, stressing that peace is essential for rapid socio-economic development and national progress.
