KNSG Warns Youths on Inter-Community Clash or Face Wrath of Law
The Kano State Government has issued a stern warning to irate youths to desist from disrupting the prevailing peace across communities or risk facing the full weight of the law.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Enlightenment at the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Muhammad Dahir Idris, following a security intervention visit to Kurna Tudun Fulani, one of the most vulnerable areas in Dala Local Government.
The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services, Retired Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar, delivered the warning while leading Directors and security operatives to the community in response to recent unrest and security threats.
The visit followed credible intelligence that some unruly youths had been terrorizing the area, resulting in destruction of property and the loss of innocent lives.
The Commissioner expressed dismay over a recent clash among the youths that led to the death of one Abba Sa’idu Mai Hula. He reiterated the commitment of the present administration under Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf to empower unemployed youths through various skill acquisition programs aimed at making them self-reliant and productive in society.
“The issue of security is everyone’s responsibility. Therefore, all hands must be on deck to safeguard the lives and property of the citizenry,” the Commissioner stated.
He called on residents of the area to remain vigilant, collaborate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activities or individuals for prompt action.
During the visit, the Ward Head of Kurna Tudun Fulani, Malam Usaini Ibrahim Tudun Fulani, appealed to the government to intensify its efforts in addressing insecurity. He proposed converting a plot of land currently used as a refuse dump into a police outpost to enhance security presence in the area.
Commissioner Umar was later taken to the site by community elders led by the Ward Head, and he assured them that the suggestion would be communicated to the appropriate authorities.
In a show of sympathy, the Commissioner, along with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Dan’asabe Yahya, and other Directors, paid a condolence visit to Malam Sa’idu Mai Hula, father of the deceased. They offered prayers for the soul of the late Abba Sa’idu and prayed for strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
