Kwara Governor orders investigation into journalist’s death

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has urged law enforcement agencies to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic demise of 27-year-old journalist, Yusuf Mubaarak, who was reportedly killed in Ilorin, the state’s capital.

The lifeless body of the young journalist was discovered in Ilorin over the weekend.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Saturday evening, Governor AbdulRazaq expressed deep shock and sadness over Mubaarak’s death, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation by security authorities.

Mubaarak, identified as a new media journalist from Ilorin, was reported missing on Wednesday night, only to be found dead near the Unity Road area of the state capital on Saturday.

“Mubaarak was laid to rest on Saturday evening in Ilorin, with friends, associates, and acquaintances mourning his passing.

“Governor AbdulRazaq extended his heartfelt condolences to Mubaarak’s family, friends, and the youth communities across the state” The statement noted.
