From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse
The Managing Director of the Jigawa Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (JARDA) and Project Coordinator of the Jigawa Integrated Rural Development Project (JIRDeP), Alhaji Muhammad Imam, has described the Lallashi solar-powered borehole irrigation scheme in Maigatari Local Government Area as a testament to Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s commitment to transforming the lives of Jigawa’s youth.
Imam made this statement while speaking to journalists about the socioeconomic impact of the project on the selected pilot communities and the state at large.
He emphasized that the initiative reflects the current administration’s vision and dedication to revolutionizing agriculture, enhancing food security, and empowering the people.
According to him, hundreds of individuals and their households have already begun reaping the benefits of the irrigation scheme, with many farmers harvesting their crops.
“This project is a clear demonstration of how impactful and timely this intervention has been. At its inception, many in the community were skeptical. Some doubted whether an irrigation scheme in Maigatari Local Government was even possible.
But today, by the grace of Allah, what once seemed unattainable has become a reality. This project is not just a success story; it is a symbol of hope, perseverance, and visionary leadership. Its achievements align seamlessly with Governor Namadi’s 12-Point Agenda, particularly in the areas of food security, job creation, and rural development,” he said.
He further disclosed that two other irrigation sites are nearing completion and urged the governor to continue expanding such initiatives to other parts of the state.
