LG Polls: PDP Commences Sale of Nomination Forms in Adamawa

The Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP has commenced the sales of nomination forms for the local government councils polls in the state.

State chairman of the party, PDP. Bar. Tahir Shehu disclosed the development in Yola Wednesday after a meeting with his state working committee stressing that prior to the announcement by the ADSIEC for the conduct of local government councils election slated for 13th July 2024.

Barrister Shehu disclosed that the party will kickstart the sales of nomination and expression of interest forms to interested members of the party on the 7th to 12th June 2024 noting that chairmanship nomination form stand for N9 Million with N1 Million for expression form .

Shehu added that the nomination form for counsellorship position goes for N100,00 while the expression of interest form stand at N20,000 accordingly.

He however said that women and people with special needs interested in contesting for any of the two positions would be paying fifty percent of each amount respectively.

He maintained that the party is committed to conducting a free,fair and credible party congress with a view to respecting the popular choice for the electorate saying that the party’s primaries (Congress)  for counsellorship and chairmanship posts  have been scheduled for 21th and 22th June 2024.

According to him submission of completed forms has been fixed for 13th to 14th June with screening of aspirants scheduled for 15th to 16th June 2024 as display of screened aspirants would be on the 19th June 2024 .

The chairman charged the party’s stakeholders and interested members to work assiduously for the victory of their candidates.

Recall that following the expiration of the tenure for local government councils chairmen and their counsellors in May 2024 ,the ADSIEC urged the political parties in the state to prepare for the local government council polls.
