MAAUN orders closure of INKSTAF Male Students Hostel over non-compliance with University’s rules

The management of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano, has announced the immediate closure and withdrawal of approval for the “Inkstaf Male’s Students Hostel” located at H-Apartment, No.8 Kanya Street, off Ahmad Musa Sport Centre Hotoro, Kano.

According to a statement by the Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba on Monday, the Management found it necessary to take the action due to non-compliance with the university’s rules and regulations governing the operation of private hostels which resulted into some criminal activities such as torture, physical assault and injury among others, posing a serious security threat to the well-being of students living in the affected hostels.

The University Management therefore, directed all affected students to stay away from the illegal hostel and avoid further association for their safety and security, pointing out that the management is collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure total compliance.

“Furthermore, parent/students are advised to reach out to the University through the office of the Vice President Campus Life for approved, secure and decent hostel accommodation,” the statement said.

The statement explained that the university Management will not be responsible for any other future security consequences that may arise as a result of non-compliance with this notice.
