COEASU, in a press conference held in Kano on Tuesday, therefore, distanced itself from the activities of members of the union who formed the group.
“We strongly reject the emergence of this illegal union formed by some of our members and its activities. It is illegal because we are not yet ripe to become members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU),” said the Chairman of the union,Ado Mohammed Abdullahi.
Abdullahi said following the upgrading of the institution from Federal College of Education,Kano, to Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education, members of the union began a transition process to enable them become members of ASUU.
