Man Arrested for Molesting Daughters in Enugu

The Enugu State Government has commended the State Command of the Nigeria Police Force for swiftly arresting a man for the alleged molestation of his two biological daughters, aged two and five.
The arrest, which was confirmed in a statement released by the Enugu State Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development on Sunday, identified the suspect as Ozioma Okonkwo, who was apprehended on Saturday night, October 25, 2025, following an alert to the authorities by a concerned citizen.
The statement further revealed that the victims have been admitted into a government-approved shelter, where they are receiving medical treatment and psychosocial support.
“Their mother, who was also traumatized following the incident, will undergo therapy under the ministry’s social welfare and counseling team,” the statement added.
The ministry described the act as a “heart-wrenching and unacceptable crime against innocence” and reiterated its zero tolerance for sexual and gender-based violence, emphasizing that offenders will face the full wrath of the law.

The statement concluded that the suspect, who is currently in police custody, will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
The government also thanked citizens for their cooperation and urged them to continue supporting efforts to protect the rights and dignity of women and children in the state.
