MD Fidelity Bank Commends Prof. Gwarzo for Founding Top Nigerian University

The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe has lauded the Founder and President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for establishing the best private university in Kano.

Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe made the commendation when she paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Gwarzo in the university on Wednesday.

She said Prof. Gwarzo deserved to be congratulated and commended for single handedly ~establishing the university in Kano and putting in place state-of-the-art facilities in the institution.

According to her, the entire environment where the university is located is very conducive for teaching and learning.

She used the occasion to thank Prof. Gwarzo for banking with Fidelity Bank despite the number of Banks operating in the ancient city of Kano.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank you for banking with us and for your continuous loyalty to the bank. So, the purpose of our visit is to say thank you over your continuous patronage to our Bank,” she said.

The Group Managing Director disclosed that the bank plans to establish branches in some African countries, especially Ghana, Zambia, and Kenya, with a view to expanding its business network in African countries.

“We are looking at three African countries to open branches like Ghana, Zambia, and Kenya,” Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe said.

Responding, Prof. Gwarzo appreciated Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe for finding time to visit MAAUN, which is one of the best universities in Nigeria, noting that the university is committed to promoting scientific research, innovation, and excellence in education.

He said MAAUN which started in Niger Republic eleven years ago, has been able to produce graduates especially Nurses who are currently working in the United Kingdom, Canada and United States of America as well as other countries across the globe.

Prof. Gwarzo, who commended Fidelity Bank for its effective services, urged the Managing Director to consider the possibility of expanding its business network to France and some African countries.

“I have been banking with you since 2015, and I’m happy to inform you that I enjoy banking with you and respect your credibility because the team and the bank is doing very well,” Prof. Gwarzo added.

Some management staff of MAAUN that witnessed the courtesy visit include the President of the university, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba and Head International Office, Engr. Bashir Garba.
