Minister pledges to restore lost glory of NTA, FRCN

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has announced plans for transformative reforms at Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

During his working visit to the media establishments in Kaduna on Friday, Idris acknowledged the vital role of both Radio Nigeria Kaduna and NTA Kaduna in shaping public opinion and fostering cultural exchange.

He also recognized the decline the institutions have experienced in recent years, attributing it to neglect, poor work ethic, and outdated technology.

He, however, gave an assurance that the Bola Tinubu administration would rejuvenate the establishments and position them as trailblazers in the broadcasting sector in Nigeria.

“We must recognize the current underwhelming performance of the NTA and FRCN in a highly competitive, creative, and technology-driven environment,” said Idris.

“My presence here today, alongside the Directors-General of both organizations, is a sincere effort to find a realistic approach to addressing these critical challenges.”

“We shall explore all the available options to ensure that we restore the lost glory of the NTA and FRCN,” he said.
