MPPPM&E Trains DAGS, Heads of Account Units On Procurement Best Practices

The Ministry for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Kano has conducted a 2-day Sensitization Workshop on Understanding Public Procurement Best Practices: A Strategic Approach for Effective Public Financial Management.
The workshop took place at Manpower Development Institute, Dutse, Jigawa State from 13th-14th February, 25 and aimed to sensitize and build the capacity of Directors Administration and General Services (DAGS), Accountants, Auditors and Store Officers in understanding procurement best practices in public sector.
Declaring open the workshop, the Head of Civil Service, Alh Abdullahi Musa represented by the Permanent Secretary Human Resource and Service Improvement, Alhaji Salahuddeen Habib Isah urged the participants to reciprocate the gesture by listening attentively to all presentations and leverage on the experience derived from the workshop at various work stations for successful service improvement and financial management.
Earlier, the Hon, Commissioner, Ministry of Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila ably represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Engr. Garba Adamu maintained that the workshop is aimed at enhancing the capacity of public sector officials in understanding procurement best practices, strategic approaches to effective public financial management, and international best practices in public procurement regulations. He mentioned that the Ministry under the new leadership remains committed and focused in ensuring due processes are adhered to in all public financial undertakings.
