From Tongnaan Bawa, Jos
Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has congratulated Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe on his election as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued on Saturday, signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs Gyang Bere,
the governor joined party faithful, supporters, and well-wishers across the country in celebrating Goshwe’s successful screening and emergence, alongside other members of the party’s National Working Committee.
Mutfwang described Goshwe’s emergence through a consensus arrangement as a reflection of the APC’s commitment to inclusive and people-driven leadership, noting that the development aligns with the vision of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as preparations gradually build toward the 2027 general elections.
He commended party leaders and stakeholders for demonstrating maturity and foresight in fostering unity, tolerance, and internal reforms within the APC. According to him, such efforts have strengthened cohesion within the party and created a fair environment for members to pursue their political ambitions.
The governor also acknowledged Goshwe’s leadership strides since his adoption in June 2025, highlighting initiatives such as reconciliation among party members, membership reorganization through e-registration, and efforts aimed at repositioning the party for future electoral success.
Expressing confidence in his capacity, Mutfwang noted that Goshwe’s background in digital transformation, energy research, and ICT, as well as his previous role as a Resident Electoral Commissioner, positions him to lead the party effectively.
He further appreciated key national leaders, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, as well as governors and party stakeholders, for zoning the APC national chairmanship to the North Central region, particularly Plateau State.
Mutfwang assured that Plateau State has capable individuals with integrity in public service and expressed optimism that Goshwe would promote unity, peace, and progressive leadership within the party.
On behalf of the government and people of Plateau State, the governor wished the new chairman success in office, praying for wisdom, strength, and good health as he takes on the responsibility of leading the party to greater achievements.
